NB2 parameters about the chat "input_crop_TSUM_parameters_maiz_sugar" #104

Hi, here are 2 questions about the "input_crop_TSUM_parameters_maiz_sugar" parameters:

  1. We noticed that "min_cycle_len, max_cycle_len and height" are new parameters in pyAEZ 2.2, in GAEZ appendix https://s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/data.gaezdev.aws.fao.org/documentation/GAEZ4_Appendices.xlsx. There are no references to the three parameters; I wonder if we could get them from our own experience in our study area. I would be grateful if you provided some reference sources for me.
  2. "Adaptability" has been shown in the PDF "PyAEZ: Crop Simulation" , but I didn't find the corresponding reference in the appendix. I would be grateful if you provided some reference sources for me.
  3. The high light below are issue parameters that have been mentioned. ![Uploading 1705497924299.png…]()

Hi @WeirdCxychen,

  1. For the cycle length settings, there are no standardizations, due to different regions, species and many reasons. However, there is a database named ECOCROP (source: https://gaez.fao.org/pages/ecocrop-find-plant) where more than 50 crop's characteristics, where cycle length's minimum and maximum extent can be referred.
  2. In AEZ methodology, adaptability refers to the terminology "Crop Climatic Adaptability" depending on distinctive crop photosynthesis characteristics in relation of temperature and radiation for biomass productivity. I'm providing an online FAO document from AEZ study in Kenya (Source: https://www.fao.org/3/t0741e/T0741E06.htm#ch6.1). There is little concept regarding crop adaptability but they cited many FAO documents which you can refer to. image
  3. Height is named as plant height (in meters).

i can't find the D1 & D2 paramater in GAEZ4_Appendices.xlsx, can you tell me where is it ?

WeirdCxychen commented 5 months ago

You could find in plant rooting depth.
