This is an old problem, it might be it is just a question of correcting a path variable. The goal is unite our big corpora and apertium (and preferably our fastest machine, the xserve, but that is another story).

apertium-sme-nob$which apertium /usr/local/bin/apertium apertium-sme-nob$./autogen.sh

checking for a BSD-compatible install... /usr/bin/install -c checking whether build environment is sane... yes checking for gawk... gawk checking whether make sets $(MAKE)... yes checking whether ln -s works... yes checking for gawk... (cached) gawk checking for pkg-config... /usr/bin/pkg-config checking pkg-config is at least version 0.9.0... yes checking for LTTOOLBOX... no checking for LTTOOLBOX... configure: error: Package requirements (lttoolbox-3.2 >= 3.2.0) were not met:

No package 'lttoolbox-3.2' found

Consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if you installed software in a non-standard prefix.

Alternatively, you may set the environment variables LTTOOLBOX_CFLAGS and LTTOOLBOX_LIBS to avoid the need to call pkg-config. See the pkg-config man page for more details.
