A feature request to the vislcg developers: At the moment it is not possible to specify the end of the input to the vislcg without terminating the program. Or, at least without terminating the program there is no output. When the input is e.g. the analyses of one file, there is no problem, since the input can be piped straight from lookup. However, we would like to be able to analyze also sentence by sentence. At the time being, starting the vislcg again after each sentence is very slow.

I do not quite understand this. What process is such that we want to do sentence by sentence more than what vislcg already does via the delimiters? You probably have a good reason for asking, and we should bring it to Eckhard and Tino. Let us formulate a letter, and send it to them.

The process is the analysis of the corpus files. They contain xml-formatting like: Sentence to be analyzed.

So, the sentence is picked from the xml-format, and sent through all programs using a pipe and stored again inside -tags. And the same thing with next sentence. With lookup, I was able to run it background, so that it did not start again for each sentence. But I didn't get it work with vislcg. Another solution would be to somehow let the xml-tags go through the whole process, but I guess that is not possible?

I forgot to add, that this is not so critical problem, since the analysis is generally a one time process and it does not matter if it takes couple of days.

It is a priority for Tino and Eckhard to speed up the process. We should thus write a precise report and send them. Could you do that?

The dialogue as-is sent to Tino and Eckhard. Whatever happens next will not be discussed in this forum.
