Server reports a print error when run in G5:
print() on closed filehandle GEN2 at /System/Library/Perl/5.8.6/darwin-thread-multi-2level/IO/Handle.pm line 399,
Seems that it closes the socket right in the beginning.
--clip clip--
Setting language to sme.
Using fsts:
/opt/smi/sme/bin/hisme-norm.fst
/opt/smi/sme/bin/hisme-norm.fst
/opt/smi/common/bin/paradigm.txt
/opt/smi/common/bin/korpustags.txt
print() on closed filehandle GEN2 at /System/Library/Perl/5.8.6/darwin-thread-multi-2level/IO/Handle.pm line 399,
...and nothing more..

I never had this kind of problems before, the server may jam but never close unexpectedly. I'll look at the script and port settings and do some testing before the holiday.

The problem is that there is no tcp-port open. I tried to open one with ipfw, but did not succeed. It would be best that someone goes to the computer and opens some ports for tcp. The server works fine locally, so perhaps you could run it altogether in G5 in the meantime?

The permissions on /opt/smi was 770. Changed it to 755, and now the communication between server_anl.pl at the G5 and Lexc2xspell from a local machine works.
