Version 1.7.10-1.9 log spam #18

Open bbgott opened 8 years ago

bbgott commented 8 years ago

I am running giled-games-utils-1.7.10-1.9 to support the latest version of the Aether II mod. This version of the Giled Games Util mod seems to have a debug print statement enabled such that the mod seriously spams the server log every time my backup mod requests a map backup. Could you please turn off the debug log prints?

Also, the mcmod.info file doesn't appear to being updated with releases such that it still claims to be version 1.7.10-1.1.

Can confirm. This is spammed every 3 minutes for me

[Server thread/INFO] [STDOUT]: [com.gildedgames.util.core.UtilCore:debugPrint:261]: [GG DEV]: Flushing data for GG Util [Server thread/INFO] [STDOUT]: [com.gildedgames.util.core.UtilCore:debugPrint:261]: [GG DEV]: Finished flushing data for GG Util

This happens for me too. Granted, I'm generating a large dynmap, so that might be relevant. I'm running Forge 1558 and Aether 1.6 for reference.

pikkon38 commented 8 years ago

this happens to me too and creates a lag spike every time it happens

dmauldin commented 8 years ago

Just pinging to request that this get a new release if for no other reason to shut this off. Thanks.

WoodenGolem commented 8 years ago

Is there any workaround for the log spam issue?

SmallSansSerif commented 8 years ago

Yeah wondering the same

Toastdeib commented 7 years ago

Came here wondering the same thing. A little digging into the revision history says they actually did fix it back in February, so I guess they must have just never built and pushed a new version after making the commit? It was on a branch that's marked as stale right now (1.7iochanges).

jellysquid3 commented 7 years ago

Releasing a new build of GGUtil often times requires us to update the Aether as well. Given development for the Aether 1.7 has stopped (we've moved to 1.10), we just haven't been able to push out a new build.

jellysquid3 commented 7 years ago

I've uploaded the patched version of GGUtil here. I make no promises about the stability of this build with the current release of the Aether, but there should be no issues.

Toastdeib commented 7 years ago

Thank you so much! I wasn't actually expecting you to reply at all (and especially not so quickly). I completely understand the pain of supporting old/deprecated code, and I was actually in the middle of typing out a response saying that I'd take a stab at setting up the Forge dev environment myself to build a custom jar. You beat me to the punch there, though. I'll try this out tonight. We just started our server yesterday, so not much is at risk anyway (plus, world backups).

HalestormXV commented 7 years ago

Hey there, I know this is a relatively older post. However, I am curious to know if you can upload this patched version to Curse. Curse will not allow this patched version to be placed in their packages because it isn't uploaded to their site.

jellysquid3 commented 7 years ago

@HalestormXV We will look into it.

HalestormXV commented 7 years ago

@jellysquid3 Excellent, thanks and Happy Holidays!

Since the download link in https://github.com/gildedgames/gilded-games-util/issues/18#issuecomment-264499577 is currently down (DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN) here is a MediaFire link for the same file: http://www.mediafire.com/file/0gr0iqwqv8xv5oa/gilded-games-util-1.7.10-1.10.jar

This file matches the name / sha256 signature on OpenEye. (File hasn't been messed with.)

@gildedgames Feel free to edit this comment and delete that download link if you don't want people reposting it or once it's been reuploaded somewhere else. Please do reupload this somewhere though. Preferably on CurseForge, even as an Alpha.

kevinvanrijn commented 6 years ago

Wait, did my comment just unassign @jellysquid3 ? How did I manage that?

Thanks for the link
