Free Music Instrument Tuner (FMIT) v1.2.6 #136

The program does not process an input signal higher than the A7 tone (3520 Hz). Tuning frequencies up to C8 (4186 Hz) are necessary when tuning analog sound synthesizer oscillators.

Hey, that's quite likely since I had surely limited to the piano range. Increasing the value in the settings is not enough?

plavolasec commented 2 years ago

Does it means, that top frequency is 4186 Hz ?

Could be this: https://github.com/gillesdegottex/fmit/blob/6ed7645d6ddfffa07adb30a41083fc004670b499/libs/Music/Music.cpp#L40 Thus: 48 semitones above A440. Does it make sense with your experiments?

The problem arose because the synthesizer's oscillator was so detuned that FMIT could not determine the pitch. Now I managed to solve the problem and thank you for your answers. I love this program of yours because it is the only one that fits my needs. Thank you very much for it. Maybe just a hint for improvement: A REAL graphical representation of the waveform from the input signal of the synthesizer (triangle, sawtooth, square) would be desirable. When displaying the Fourier shape of a signal, these are not real shapes.

You should check the "wave form view" (4th button from the left as far as I remember).

Thanks for the motivating words!
