Does this still work for you? If so, what kind of key and what service do you need to create under Google Developer Console? Thanks.

Hello Dankrusi, you can obtain your own key connected to your google developer account. You must be part of chromium dev group to be able to see speech-api in your panel. Here you can find all the steps: http://www.chromium.org/developers/how-tos/api-keys
