a question about cc1 and cc2 #2

Open AceCuba opened 1 year ago

AceCuba commented 1 year ago

in the version 1.2 you dont use the 5k1 resistors , that means you bring the cc1 and cc2 to ground . the usb c to usb c charger will istil work ?

giltesa commented 1 year ago

When the circuit didn't have any resistors, that made it so that no USB-C to USB-C cable would work, but the audio worked perfectly.

When the circuit had both resistors, the audio never worked.

When the circuit has only one resistor, the audio works and the charging does too. Although there may be some strange cable that doesn't charge, or only charges in a single orientation.

so if i do the wiring , of the 1.2 usb a to c will charge and the c headset will work right

AceCuba commented 1 year ago

but no C to C becaouse cc1 and cc2 are graunded

AceCuba commented 1 year ago

so you need to put a resistor in one cc and audio select on the gameboy to the other cc , in other to have charge usb C to C ( only one side ) , usb c audio bouth sides , and charge usb A to C bouth sides

sorry for all the questions im from cuba cant by or made the pcb , so im traing to diy this thing jajaj

I uploaded the latest versions of the board with resistor. If you want to use USB-C to USB-C cables you need the resistor. Here you have a demonstration video: https://youtu.be/ZznNsDhFl9U

I'm worried about the analog audio of the usb c sharing the same data lines as sound lines , so if you connect to charge the gba sp using a laptop are you injecting voltage through the sound lines of the l and r channels of the gba? , or those channels are only active if cable select goes to ground

giltesa commented 1 year ago

The VCC pin is not connected to the L and R lines. https://content.instructables.com/FGB/MTVZ/J0MOVWZI/FGBMTVZJ0MOVWZI.jpg

I watched your video https://youtu.be/ZznNsDhFl9U

And I understand it uses the 1.5 version with the resistor fitted. Is that correct?

AceCuba commented 1 year ago

I mean data + and data - that are conected to l and r sound . What happends if i conect the gba sp to the laptop USB a to USB C

giltesa commented 1 year ago

Nothing happens, the GBASP charge and the PC doesn't detect it.

It's the USB-C standard: https://posaok.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/USB-Type-C-audio-pin-assignment.jpg
