What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.save the loader in C:\Program Files(x86)\Wizards of the Coast\Character
builder
2.Make a shortcut to the loader on the desktop
3.run the shortcut

What is the expected output?
CBloader runs
What do you see instead?
could not load file or assembly 'ApplicationUpdate.Client, Version=1.0.0.0,
Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies. The system
cannot find the file specified.
When I look in my character builder file I indeed do not have a
ApplicationUpdate.Client, but rather only a ApplicationUpdate.Client.dll file.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
1.1.2 on windows 7

Please provide any additional information below.

This is an odd one. Can you confirm that you did in fact make a shortcut to
cbloader.exe, not a copy of it.

After doing that, can you right click the shortcut on your desktop, select
'properties' and then tell me the paths that are specified for the 'target' and
'start in' fields?

That was it.
I had copied it rather than shortcutting it.
once I did that and gave it admin rights, everything seems to be working fine.
Thanks
