No new content in CB - pipeline error #33

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install Char Builder
2. Update to Oct '10
3. Unzip CBLoader (to main folder or self-made _p folder, doesn't matter for
output)
4. Run CBLoader with the dark sun CS

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected output: CB with dark sun content.
Instead, I get the pipeline error in the CBLoader screen and the regular CB
without DS content.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
1.6, on WinXP SP2

Please provide any additional information below.

I've tried -p, -e and they're not helping. I've tried messing with the
combined.part file, but it's not working... and upon uninstall of CB, that file
was gone. Running the CBLoader again does not make a new one. Output is still
the same as Oct '10.

type Winkey+r
type cmd.exe
type 'cd <path to your character builder folder>'
type cbloader.exe -v > log.txt

then attach the log file to this ticket by clicking 'attach a file' and
navigating to your character builder folder and selecting log.txt

you are, unfortunately, affected by the issue which requires the use of the -p
switch.

I see that you have already tried that, so there might be some additional
problem. Can you navigate to %appdata%/cbloader and open up 'combined.dnd40' in
notepad (it might take some time to load) then use Ctrl+f to locate something
that should exist in your custom content. Let me know if the content you are
looking for exists in this file.

Honestly, and unfortunately, I'm not really sure how to resolve this issue. You
can try the following:
navigate to your character builder folder.
locate d20rulesengine.dll.bak to make sure it exists
delete d20rulesengine.dll
rename d20rulesengine.dll.bak to d20rulesrulesengine.dll
Then try rerunning the application with the -p switch.

If that does not work, repeat the above steps but try using v1.1.2 of character
builder:
http://code.google.com/p/cbloader/downloads/detail?name=CBLoaderV1.1.2.zip and
try using the -p switch with that version.

It is likely that v1.1.2 won't work with your current .part files because
several features did not yet exist. But if you can find or create a very simple
.part file for trial, this might give a clue as to where the problem lies.
There were some relatively significant changes to the -p switch in v1.1.3.

Note that 1.1.2 requires that you run the application in 'administrator' mode
if you are on windows vista or windows 7.
