Exclamation mark is impossible on QWERTZ keyboard #775

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Have a QWERTZ keyboard (Swiss French) and Editra v.0.7.12 under MacOS X 
10.7.5.
2. Try to add an exclamation mark (!) to your text using the keyboard. Nothing 
appears in your Editra document. The funny thing is that the umlaut (¨) is 
working as expected; it's the same key than for the exclamation mark, but 
without the SHIFT held down.
3. If I copy & paste an exclamation mark from somewhere else, it works as 
expected.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead? The expected output is an 
exclamation mark (!), but nothing happens (not even a blank is produced). In 
other text editors, it works as expected.

IMPORTANT!!! Please answer these questions for any and ALL bug reports

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Editra v.0.7.12 under MacOSX 10.7.5 (English version)

What method of install was your version installed with (Binary/Source)?
From the binary found under the downloads and with the date "08/12/2012".

If from source: What version of python and wxPython are you using?

Please provide any additional information below.
In the attachment, you'll find a screen copy (PNG file) of the keyboard layout. 
The exclamation mark is made with SHIFT+¨.

I have exactly the same problem.

Editra version: 0.7.20 and prior

installation source: binary

python and wxpython: no idea, the one comeing with OSX 10.8.3

Language (German, But English US or UK does not change the behavior)
Error:  `does not work. (´does work)
