syntax highlighting only updates until cursor position, not for entire document

i have a file named with no extention.
it contains text, sql, and xml
i changed the lexer to sql, and when i did, i realized i had a quotation 
mismatch somewhere as most of my text was highlighted as something inside quotes
when i went up and fixed the quotation mismatch, the highlighting of the rest 
of the document did not update immediately
it would only update when the cursor was moved to a lower position, and would 
only update until it reached the position of the cursor

Thanks for the sample file, not reproducible on Windows 7.

Will recheck on other platforms and update later.
