When using the File Manager, the visual contrast between lists with more than one page and exactly one page is not particularly distinct. The numerical range shows that there are more items, and the "next page" button is slightly different in shade when active and inactive. Users take time to learn to spot this and therefore report that they don't see all of their data until they get used to it.
It would be better for the paging controls to have more distinction between when they are active and not.
