Since 2015, Git Rev News should have information about all the GSoC contributors, but yeah, it can be helpful to get information about all the previous contributors.
An issue with this might be that we might not want to publicize too much information about the contributors who were failed even though this could be useful information.
Thank you for you inputs, Christian. I have made the list more exhaustive now and included candidate list from 2007. The supplementary links still need improvement which I hope could be done as a follow-up. I'll try to include more references to Git Rev News while at it.
Also, I've avoided mentioning candidates who have failed as you suggest. Kindly check the recent revision and let me know if you have any further thoughts.
@sivaraam, this looks great to me. Thanks. I am Ok with merging this, but it looks like it is "still a work in progress". Can you make it "Ready to review" or should I do it?
I've marked it for review now. 🙂
Thanks, merged.
This file is being collected to gather the information about the participants that have contributed to Git via GSoC, an outreach program conducted by Google each year. This would serve as a helpful reference.
The intention is not to restrict gathering the information only for GSoC. We've started gather this with GSoC. We'll expand to also gather information of participants who've contributed via Outreachy.
