Context

Hi all,

By way of introduction, I am Kevin Owocki -- the founder of Gitcoin. I'm a pretty active twitter user, and participate in a lot of blockchain.

One of the most common debates I see is debating which are the most used apps in the space. The metric that people use is layer 1 transactions per day/month. I think this is TOTALLY WRONG. For the same reason you don't measure a web2 app by how many database writes it does, layer 1 transactions is NOT the right metric to measure dapp adoption.

Gitcoin is trying to lead by example here by showcasing our results at https://gitcoin.co/results. Screenshots follow:

Bounty

I want to see a sea change in the narrative that "no ones using dapps". I want to do so by showing that people ARE actually using dapps, and refocusing on the RIGHT metrics.

The right metrics are different for your dapp than they are for mine. And that's cool with me. Choose whatever KPIs are right for your business (but pls don't choose vanity metrics like "total users" or "total value transfered", choose metrics that actually show how often / by whom your dapp is being used).

If you make a page for your own dapp like the /results page on Gitcoin, I will pay a bounty of 0.55 ETH to you.

I was reading your comments and I came across this report by an analytics firm through this article. It basically says that the Ethereum dapp transactions have set new alltime high and clearly this does lend support to the fact that dapps space is growing and rising transactions does mean that people are finding value in the applications.

@owocki Is this still active? This month we had our first El Hackathón Muñón event on mainnet. It's a Hackathón-DAO powered by our dapp, more info on our landing. I was thinking on making some analytics and came across your post. Still need to figure out what data is relevant for us (number of hackathons hosted, the participant that earned the most, percentage of participants that made it till the end...). We plan to continue making events like this in the near future so more data comming soon :smiley:

Do we qualify? I'm very excited about testing gitcoin and gathering feedback from the eth community

@owocki We just uploaded the results to our web at https://munonhack.com/results/ It was pretty cool writing the DApp and discussing the results in our community, we discovered a couple of interesting stuff. This is the results dapp repo: https://github.com/buidl-honduras/MunonExplorer

Hello! Just letting you know that we did a couple of improvements to the UI with the help of rimble. And btw, the gitcoinbot says that the state of this issue is Open, but I already submitted. Is that normal? Other than that, here and on the gitcoin web it all looks good.

yes totally normal for a cooperative / competitive bounty. there will be many submitteres.

looks great. how can i help yo ushow it off? would be interested in jamming on how we could work together on our hackathons (hackathons.gitcoin.co)
