It's possible this is caused by something else on my system, but when I upgraded my development version and plugins to the latest dokuwiki versions I noticed that icons are showing up everywhere except when they are inside a link, like this:
[[pro:proxylog.json|{{icon>link}}]]
The result on the wiki page is a blue link that says "icon>link"
My page is using Bootstrap 3 if it helps. Production version (running an older dokuwiki version) is at http://support.darklightcyber.com
