Hide Inbox Type menu

There is a little drop down that rests on the "Inbox" label in Gmail that 
allows you to select your inbox type (Classic, Important, Unread, Starred, 
Priority) 

I'm just wondering if it would be possible to include an option to hide this 
box as I, and I'm sure many others find this completely useless if they are 
happy with their inbox type. 

I've included an image to show what I'm discussing.
