Hide zero inbox message not working

What is the problem? Describe completely:

I enabled "Hide zero-inbox Google Reader ad" but it is not hidden. This "ad" 
has changed to a Google+ ad ("No new mail! See what people are talking about on 
Google+.").

Minimalist version  0.5.20
Relevant core module Gmail
Chrome version       20.0.1132.57
Operating System     OS X 10.6.8
Language             English (US)
Google Apps user?    Yes, this is a Google Apps gmail account
Other extensions     Rapportive

Please provide any additional information below and attach screenshots if
relevant.
