Additional context Add any other context about the problem here. @BenEmdon is there any possible solution, as they are falling behind as they cant work

Hey @ejgutierrez74, I'll investigate this and unstick them for you. It looks like Cosmin's handle is @cosminlupas.

What is Hector Jimenez's GitHub handle? (I need their GitHub username to investigate their assignment)

BenEmdon commented 5 years ago

I just investigated @cosminlupas situation and it looks like they just needed to press the retry button. Their assignment was created normally and successfully and they can access their assignment at https://classroom.github.com/a/hMFfiPZZ.

☝️ No bug here, they just needed to try again.

cosminlupas commented 5 years ago

No there is some kind of bug, because i tried several times, different days and hours. I also reboot the computer and logout from github. Also i exited from my browser several times.

I spent in different computers. I finally got stuck without the repo created

When you tried, did you ever see an error message?

Can you go to https://classroom.github.com/a/hMFfiPZZ and confirm that your assignment repo was created?

ejgutierrez74 commented 5 years ago

@BenEmdon as the teacher of @cosminlupas i can confirm that repo has been created yesterday when you answered this issue ( dont know if you have made anything to solve this bug).

The assignment began two weeks ago, and i can assure that we had reloaded many times the page, reboot system, exit from firefox as @cosminlupas says. I gave him the link of assignment and it loaded a page with the background of classroom but nothing happened, neither assignment was creaated nor message error or chance of cancelling or begin again the import process.

I began to report at the bottom of #1591( just to avoid duplicates) as you can get more information about the issue https://github.com/education/classroom/issues/1591#issuecomment-426209112

I decided to open a new issue.

Now seems that every body has its repository.

We need some tools as teachers to solve this problems....

Thanks for your help

@ejgutierrez74 dont know if you have made anything to solve this bug

I didn't do anything to solve the bug, the assignment just appeared when I accepted it on @cosminlupas behalf. Unfortunately because it succeeded I don't have insight into why this might be happening 😕

When students have problems accepting an assignment, the best they can do is take a screenshot of the part they are stuck at or record the error message that pops up. By doing that we can start to understand what is going wrong in the repository setup process.

I gave him the link of assignment and it loaded a page with the background of classroom but nothing happened, neither assignment was creaated nor message error or chance of cancelling or begin again the import process.

This doesn't sound right 😕 In the last two weeks we have made some improvements to the resiliency of setup process and we will continue to work on it as we find bugs.

In the meantime, please report back with each instance where a student is stuck and I'll personally investigate what the problem is.

@ejgutierrez74 Has this issue happened to you recently?

jashelio commented 5 years ago

Ben,

Not to me currently, but it has happened to students of others in my instructor group here. It is making us reconsider use of GitHub classroom.
