GitHub Classroom automates repository creation and access control, making it easy for teachers to distribute starter code and collect assignments on GitHub.
Rather than having users go through the existing new organization flow on dotcom, we'd like to explore a pared-down version that presents the following:
Organization name
Corporate ToS
poss. .edu email
Update Nov 1 2019:
We discovered that users in OFAC locations are directed through this signup path and we'd like to direct Classroom users who want to create a new organization down this same path. Combined with the redirects, we hope to be able to stem the biggest pain points in the onboarding process.
Old mockups
We can pre-select free Team for Open Source for them behind the scenes (and perhaps consider requesting for the academic email address instead of the billing email). Preliminary mockups attached to help provide visual reference.
