Looks like your computer doesn't like the kernel extension. Can you run this command and share the output here?
sudo kextutil -verbose -print-diagnostics /Library/Extensions/softu2f.kext
Sure.
Defaulting to kernel file '/System/Library/Kernels/kernel'
Kext rejected due to system policy: <OSKext 0x7f9611424700 [0x7fff950c08e0]> { URL = "file:///Library/StagedExtensions/Library/Extensions/softu2f.kext/", ID = "com.github.SoftU2FDriver" }

Diagnostics for /Library/Extensions/softu2f.kext:
If you go to System Preferences and then Security & Privacy, do you see anything prompting you to "allow" the Soft U2F system extension? It would look something like this
No. Ran the installer again. Nothing in the Security and Privacy before or after the failure.
Does any error dialog pop up when you try to load the kext manually? (sudo kextload -v /Library/Extensions/softu2f.kext
)
No dialog, but it complains about the command in the terminal.
sudo kextload -v /Library/Extensions/softu2f.kext
Password:
Requesting load of /Library/Extensions/softu2f.kext.
/Library/Extensions/softu2f.kext failed to load - (libkern/kext) system policy prevents loading; check the system/kernel logs for errors or try kextutil(8).
Nothing in the system.log
and I don't have a kernel.log
The installer fails on the last step and doesn't install the app, therefore some of the following diagnostics are not applicable (nothing is installed).
System information
OS: 10.14.5 (18F132)
What browser are you using?
N/A. Pre-installation. I have Chrome, FF and Safari installed on the machine.
