Typo Fixes #49

A few small nits picked. Feel free to squash, cherry-pick, drop commits, &c.

There's nothing here of substance, but anything I offer by PR to this project I also dedicate/license under CC0-1.0, until I say otherwise.

Thanks! I cherry-picked 7883bfb and 2c69f1d for v2 (#44). We're not planning to do a v1.0.1, but if we do, will use these commits in a new branch for that.

The cross-reference is already corrected in the v2 branch.

I'm not 100% certain that 'is' (f55fa36) is the correct missing verb or that 982e762 is the ideal fix (looks like somewhat uncommon phrasing, though there is a subject-verb agreement problem). Will come back for those if appropriate.
