The xPUD project is amazing! The following machines fail to initialize the
display properly for whatever reason:
* Acer Aspire 7738g
* Sony VAIO VPCF115FM
* Acer Revo 3610
* Motherboard with Intel EP45 chipset and a Radeon HD 5850 graphics card
Boot hangs with no UI and a "sh-4.0#" prompt. Tried the following boot options
but none of them have corrected this issue:
* vga=normal
* nofb
* vga=771
* nomodeset
* xforcevesa
* screen=800x600x16
Is there a way to guarantee that the safe "vesa" driver is used, or otherwise
force X to show a basic video mode, even if it is low resolution? What kernel
boot option should be used to ensure that xPUD boots into a GUI, even if it is
not the best driver? (Screen resolution doesn't matter when you get a black
screen anyway!)
