Unable to reproduce this issue on Samsung NC10. Wait a bit and press "Refresh",
does
it help? Check the output of "iwconfig" command in terminal.
Could you check if all needed wifi modules are loaded with "lsmod" command in
terminal, compare it to previous working version.

I have a Dell Latitude D430 with wireless 1505 802.11a/g/n mini-card.

iwconfig:
lo no wireless extensions

Missing wifi module is: ieee80211_crypt_tkip (16000)

Module ieee80211_crypt_tkip is included in xPUD. Could you check "dmesg" for
kernel
errors?

How can I identify a kernel error? I don't know much about it.

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
Open terminal and execute followind command "dmesg > dmesg.log". Then, open the
file
"dmesg.log" with text editor and look for lines with "ieee80211". If you can,
attach
its contents here.

My dmesg logfile is attached here. Can you see why my wifi module doesn't start
up
anymore?

Have you tried using additional drivers
http://www.xpud.org/download.en.html#tab-4 ?

I've just ried them, but my wifi light on my laptop doesn't go on.

Wireless might work even with wifi light off. Does wireless extension appear in
"iwconfig" after loading additional drivers? Any new "dmesg" messages?

Original comment by jos...@gmail.com on 12 Aug 2009 at 9:14

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
Nope, still no wireless extensions. Dmesg.log has changed completely, see
attachement.

I don't have to unrar xpud-0.9-mod.tgz before installing the drivers do I? I've
just
used the .tgz file.

Does it work on latest snapshot
http://download.xpud.org/devel/xpud-11042009.iso ?

Original comment by jos...@gmail.com on 4 Nov 2009 at 3:46

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
No, after three months my problem is still not fixed. Wifi worked perfectly in
the
original v0.9. It hasn't worked with any of all the snapshop builds afterwards.
Seems
pretty consistent to me, but hey I'm not a computer programmer.

2 most recent versions; excellent desktop! No wireless networks detected or on
list
to connect to. Strong signals detected, my wireless functioning well under
Ubuntu
based distro.

Wow, this problem with the non-working wlan seems to be very old. Intels 2200bg
still doesn't work for normal users.

It seems to me, that linux freaks enjoy, to make us ask and ask again, so they
can explain and explain. Fact is, that I will not open any command lines and
write any scripts. Maybe we have to wait for chrome os.

Mac is expensive and restrictive
Linux is not for users, it's for people, who wants to feel important
The only alternative is still to use this corrupt Windows :-(

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!
