As a field technician installing, working on, maintaining and repairing equipment in the field, I need to be able to view Equipment records (and the related lists and attachments) so that I can view technical information about the equipment, who owns the equipment, where the equipment is located, its location history, its maintenance history and associated documents (repair manuals, assembly manuals, tech specs, etc.) so that I can properly and safely service the equipment. I need to be able to quickly find a specific piece of equipment that might be one of several thousands in the system to which I can access.
There are numerous ways I’d like to be able to find/access a piece of equipment: (Tech note: the user should only have any of this access if they an EAM license.)
I’d prefer a simple menu option to access the Equipment records.
I definitely want to be able to scan the bar code on a piece of equipment and have its record come up.
In addition, I’d like to see my recently viewed equipment along with other ways to find and list equipment.
I should also be able to get to the equipment record by clicking it from the Job/Ticket side of things.
For now the equipment record data will be read-only.
