Debug failed AppVeyor build #9

The AppVeyor builds started failing. One difference between the last passing build and a failed build is the conda version. If that continues to be an issue, we may need to download Miniconda ourselves and pin the version instead of using AppVeyor's version.

Good job fixing the builds on all operating systems. I'm merging now that the tests all pass.
