The first image is where a student wants to optimize his note by limiting the area used by the picture. The second image is a scenario where a student can't optimize the area space used by images.

The habit of note-taking in college/school of any subject is a good thing. But as we began to write notes, at some point your notes start to become too huge to go through each topic. It becomes bulky in size. Too many areas to scroll.

That's when he/she thinks about optimizing the space used in the notes in as many ways as possible.

CherryTree is a very cool software I found a few months ago. I use it a lot to take exam notes.

I think CherryTree should not consume the entire block width area of the picture and decrease the place to write to just one line. There are many scenarios where one might want to insert a small picture on the right side and explain it on points. It looks good sometimes.

Yes, people can just align the picture in the center and write notes below it. But every time, doing so is not appropriate. It's unnecessary. This is a big blow to people who want to optimize their notes.

Let us drag and drop pictures from wherever we want and don't consume the entire block where ever it has been dropped.

This ultimately will save time, because the area used in each note will be discrete and short without having to mouse/touchpad to scroll.

It makes sense to be able to write text beside rather than below the image. I think you can already partially achieve that adding a codebox of plain text and following the image. I say partially because currently only plain text can be put in a codebox and furthermore there is an issue with the vertical alignment that happens at the bottom and not at the top as it should (there's an open issue about the alignment thing)

@giuspen

Using Codebox, in this case, is a temporary hack we can use but it's not the ultimate solution to use. The text layout is not normal, and steps to achieve this increase the time required to get the job done.

there's an open issue about the alignment thing

Then, we need to go throw it first.

The image should be free to drop wherever possible (which we can) and the area consumed by the image should only be the size of the image. That's our main goal.

@giuspen image [New scenario] Today I came across this same issue which is hindering the design layout. This two-line would have looked great if I could write at the side of the image.

Instead, if it was doable, I could have done this:

[Image showing green port] -> Used for plugging the mouse [Same Image showing purple port] -> Used for plugging keyboard.
