TOC Unicode Characters Not Recognized Properly In Windows 10 #390

Open kazooter opened 6 years ago

Cherrytree v. 0.38.5

TOC bullet Unicode characters: U+25C7 (white diamond) U+25b8 (black right pointing small triangle)

In Windows 10 unicode bullet characters are not interpreted properly (see screenshot).

In Ubuntu 16.04 unicode characters display as intended.

Okay, looks like these characters are not recognized in Ariel. To make them display correctly I (we) must use Sans. Bullet characters should be generalized to work with all selectable fonts. -- Thanks.

Hi, you can also customise the characters used in such lists but in order to do that you must edit with a text editor the config.cfg if you know where to find it

Hi, Giuseppe.

Yes, I know how to customize them.  My chosen solution was to just use one of the fonts that supports them (I'm supremely lazy) -- there are about 10 fonts among the ones I have in Windows 10 that support all the bullets.

I don't want to overstate the importance of this -- I love the program because I can work with the same administrative files in Dropbox with both my Windows and Linux machines.

Thanks for your response and for your good work, Rick
