Idea:
defeat in pvp (by player damage) puts them into a disabled rag doll state. victor can then either capture or kill or capture a knocked out player via menu options, knocked down status effect lasts for 5 mins, can be killed by npcs/enviroment ect in this state.
Perhaps "captured" players respawn as an invisible avatar that cannot fight/pick up objects, etc. until the victor clicks a "respawn" control? Could be used as an exploit, though (invincible "scout mode" FTW), so if possible make it that the "captured" invisible character cannot move away more than a few hundred feet - if they do, they respawn as-normal. If the capturing player leaves the game, the capture condition immediately ends.
Don't have the dead player immediately respawn. The game stores who dealt the killing blow, so allow that character to decide what happens.
