Defining of namespace assignments

In the comments of the assignment menu is written:

• Namespaces excluding subnamespaces are assigned as 'namespace:*'.
• Namespaces including subnamespaces are assigned as 'namespace:**'.

For me it is possible to use the second variable. Unfortunately the first variable with only one star at the end is acting like the second variable.

I'm running the latest dokuwiki version 2020-07-29 "Hogfather" on php 7.4.10 with the extension "approve", version 2020-09-21.
