Lorenzo Minola (Gothenburg) has noted issues in the (HadISD) when compared to Swedish Met Service data for stations in Sweden. It looks to be a knots-m/s conversion issue as the offsets from the 1-to-1 line are factors of 2 or 0.5 (conversion from knots when in m/s, no conversion from knots to m/s).
HadISD never included wind speeds in the neighbour checks - so that wouldn't have picked these up. However, this QC suite does include wind speeds in the inter-station checks.
Do some comparisons (with Lorenzo's help?) to check whether these are working and if the help identify at least some of these conversion errors.
