Checking with @njandreau on this. Typically if we were going to apply a color we would create a font full of the icons and provide a select list for them to choose a class. This is most likely for either a bg color or text color.
You could print the hex value as a background color in the CSS. Just let me know how you want it done.
The color is for the background of the div.
On "Incident Types" one selects an icon, and a color.
Is that color meant to colorize that icon? If so, the referenced icon needs to be an SVG or something, not an image, because images can't be colorized via hex value.
The nearest thing I can think of is that "color" could set a background color for a PNG, which would appear to colorize.
Or, this could refer to the text overlaying the icon?
