Blockquote frequently does not work

What browser are you using? Chrome

What version of ScribeFire are you running? 1.7.1

No and I often have to just manually insert the blockquote code.

It works less often than not though.

I don't have any issues with the latest version (4.2) of Scribefire for Chrome.
Can you try out with latest, and if you still have issues let us know which 
blogging platform you are using.
