Currently they are unrelated (and I don't think table selections will even be affected by sidebar actions?!)
It's basically supported tho: https://mui.com/x/react-data-grid/selection/#controlled-selection
Alongside this we need to rename the meta field "selected" as that doesn't mean selected, it means the item has been filtered so can create some confusion!
