https://github.com/mastodon/mastodon/pull/15664 has been open for over a year now, and it seems relatively straightforward to merge it into glitch-soc, especially since this is something that a lot of people want :eyes:

I would be willing to handle the pr on glitch-soc if @tak wouldn't!

Motivation

very useful for instance admins who want to share instance blocks!

It's a little bitrotted now (newer ruby vs. paperclip), but I could resurrect and PR to glitch-soc if desired
