Unread notifications favicon badge not updating when reading notifications #2879

Steps to reproduce the problem

  1. Enable the "Unread notifications favicon badge" option
  2. Receive a few notifications
  3. Notice the favicon has a badge with a number of notifications
  4. Go to the notifications view
  5. Notice the badge in the favicon has not disappeared (even after using the "mark all read" button)

Expected behaviour

The unread notifications favicon badge disappears as notifications are read.

Actual behaviour

The badge stays there until the page is refreshed. New notifications increase the number on the badge, but it never decreases.
