I have forwarded this suggestion to the Limno project team. I assume it will need to be budgeted and put in the SOW, etc.
Colin suggested that the data tweeted could be similar to what users get when they text a buoy for data.

Our buddies at Caricoos have a buoy that tweets on the hour. They are certainly in a different position that we are, but we'd like to explore each buoy tweeting, branded under GLOS. Maybe it could do the DMAC data sets at 5:00, we can talk about that. They use Tweepy, which uses Python.
Rather than having the tweet show up under the GLOS account, we're thinking that it should be individual so those who care to can follow their favorite buoy.
