Jim Manning NOAA Woods Hole james.manning@noaa.gov Comments As a NOAA oceanographer, I have been working with the GLERL folks for several years to help track their surface drifters. They have deployed nearly 100 units over the last several years and currently have about a dozen in the water. You can see them at https://www.nefsc.noaa.gov/drifter/drift_X.html and the data is served at the same location in csv, xml, and json. Would you like to add these as a layer to your asset map? Let me know how if you need more info. These are standard "Davis-CODE-style surface drifters" measuring the top meter of flow. I also have tracks posted on the NERACOOS and MARACOOS sites.

Responses from Becky:

Hi Jim,

Thank you for reaching out to us. It would be great to integrate the drifter data into the GLOS Data Portal. I copied our DMAC team, so that they can review the URL and think about how to make it happen.

The next step is to complete the metadata form (don't for get to save it with a new file name) and email it to metadata@glos.us If you have any questions about the metadata, please email Kathy at kkoch@glos.us

Kind regards, Becky

From @kknee All,

Jim’s drifter data already comes into EDS. We’ll work on adding it to the Portal.
