Time stamp on exports (GLBuoys) #34

Open kkoch opened 6 years ago

I’m wondering about the time stamp on exported data. The unit says UTC. Is this accurate, or is there a behind-the-scenes conversion? In the UGLOS tool, I was able to download everything up to the most recent data and could create the previous day’s dataset for a given time zone by subtracting off the appropriate number of hours (5 or 6, depending on the time zone). This functionality was very important and I hope it can be restored.

Happy to chat more if needed.

Thanks,

Carolyn

NOTE: Verified that on GLBuoys the timestamp reads UTC (versus the Data Portal which reads "Local Time").

@gcutrell Can you respond to Carolyn's question? I wasn't sure if entering this manually in the feedback spreadsheet would break things, so just entered it here for now.
