fresnel and hoomd don't share GPUs well #46

Jupyter notebooks using both fresnel and hoomd on the GPU give random CUDA errors, initialization errors, and other strange behavior. I am not sure what (if anything) can be done about it.

This is not a fresnel issue. HOOMD should activate its device when needed. I opened an issue in hoomd to track: https://bitbucket.org/glotzer/hoomd-blue/issues/236
