Diffs for edit history

HTML based? Highlighting? List of fields changed?
Mark edits significant for 'unread' purposes (such that users have to jump back to reread it)
View all edits in a post (or thread, see #5)

The display was improved recently in #512 in anticipation of moderators. (Mostly unrelated to the issues mentioned here.)

Discussion today suggested three levels of edit types: major (shows link on thread, causes unread to bounce on last reply) and minor (typos etc, doesn't cause unread or link but can be viewed from history) and hidden (only author(s?) can see it).
