Failure loading residual, model, etc. cubes #16

I've tried loading non .image cubes in CASA and had failures that look like this (apologies for the screenshot, I can't copy/paste from xpra):

Relatedly, cube.to_glue doesn't appear to work on the machine I'm testing on. That may be a different issue.
