Revert PR 45 (use of SpectralCoordinate to wrap GWCS) #46

45 should be reverted at some point but also have to work with jdaviz to avoid regression of spacetelescope/jdaviz#837 .

Indeed - this requires jdaviz to rely purely on APE 14 API for WCS

I have opened spacetelescope/jdaviz#844 as a blocker for this one.
