When you set the opacity to zero in the WWT viewer, it only applies to the inside of the scatter point. There is an edge around each scatterpoint (same color as the middle) which is fixed and unaffected by the opacity scale bar. This is illustrated in the attached screenshot. The opacity works correctly in the 2D scatter plot though!
