Cards are not created #121

Open sofia-ce opened 5 years ago

sofia-ce commented 5 years ago

Problem description

Please describe the issue concisely in here. In case of an error: Walk us through the steps you took to get there. What happened? What did you expect to happen?

When I create my IOE cards, I'll press the "Hide all, guess one" or "Hide one, guess one" and in the corner it'll say "x cards created".

The cards aren't created. They don't show up in my browse. Not only in my desired deck but also not in my whole collection. I'll try to select for "added today" and only my basic/cloze cards come up.

I would like to work on this issue but I couldn't reproduce it with a freshly installed Anki on Windows 10 or Arch Linux.

Hi, I found out how to solve the problem. After creating image occlusion, when I press the create button, it creates the card, but Anki marks them as unseen like the figure below, so you have to make them visible manually. This way I solved my problem, but is there any way to mark all created cards seen? Screenshot from 2019-12-03 19-59-51

Noxgrim commented 5 years ago

@alipqb Which OS do you use and what do you do to see this data? So for you they are marked as unseen but not as new. I don't know, but you haven't learned them so they should been “unseen”, shouldn't they?

If I create the cards they are marked as new and show up in the browser. Screenshot of deck and browser

Sorry for my delay to answer: No, when I create them at first it didn't show any info for my cards that are created. Then when I installed this add-on (More Overview Stats 2.1) I was able to see them that they are created but are marked unseen, so I manually added them to queue for study with increasing the card numbers.

What is your daily limit on new cards? Perhaps you exceeded them?

Since unseen cards should be searchable in browser, I think this is a different issue from BisonCaretaker's.

glutanimate commented 4 years ago

Just to get an update on the situation, @BisonCaretaker and @alipqb are you still experiencing this issue?

If so, could you try renaming your "Image Occlusion Enhanced" note type to something random under Tools → Manage Note Types, restart Anki, and then try creating some new image occlusions? This will regenerate the IO note type and card templates with the defaults set.

One reason cards might not be added is that Anki might be recognizing them as empty if the note type or templates have been tampered with in some way. By trying again with a brand new note type this will help me rule out that possibility.

Thanks!

I tried this ^ and it worked! Thank you so much. I had been trying to make it work for a long time now.
