Read Stokes drift velocity from files #1

Thank you for sharing your scripts, which is very helpful for me to know how to drive a real ocean LES with Oceananigans. I would like to ask if Oceananigans currently supports reading Stokes drift velocities in X and Y directions from a file during running? If so, could you provide some guidance or give me some hints? Thanks!

It looks like this isn't supported yet... though a while ago I did work on adding this with Qing Li: https://github.com/CliMA/Oceananigans.jl/pull/2320

It's not hard but there were some mysterious test failures that we couldn't explain (which were unrelated). Also to do this well for time-dependent Stokes drift I think we want to support FieldTimeSeries and compute both the shear and the time-derivative of the Stokes drift from the file...

That ultimately links to another package I worked on for realistic LES of the tropical ocean (which has evolving interior forcing, but not evolving Stokes drift simply because Stokes drift was not available): https://github.com/glwagner/TropicalTurbulantics.jl

I tested the "Field Stokes drift" functionality from a very simple case before I get to the question that reading Stokes drift from files. The code is like:

using Oceananigans
