error with usage within \documentclass[class=europasscv, crop=false]{standalone}

with the above code in the subfile the subfile compiles correctly but if i try to invoke the compilation of the master file including the subfile with \input{filename} or include{filename} latex gives error:

LaTeX Error: Environment europasscv undefined. [\begin{europasscv}]

and a series of

Undefined control sequence.
