Hi. I notice small proble/inconvenience when trying to apply different wallpapers to my virtual desktops. XfDashBoard seams not to realise that every desktop may have it's own wallpaper ant simply show active wallpaper on every desktop preview. Also when scrolling over desktops you can see changing background on every desktop preview corresponding to active desktop wallpaper. Is that some internal limitation, or miss-configured theme ? regards.bartus.

Hi,

oops, I've never noticed this issue because I do not have different wallpapers on each workspace. It looks like limitation of X. I ask the X server for the root window and the image of this window. As far as I know a X screen can have only exactly one root window which shows the wallpaper configured. That's why the background of all workspaces changes when you switch to another workspace.

There's nearly nothing I can do about it. Nearly. I assume you are using Xfce as desktop environment, aren't you? Then the only idea I have is to check if xfdashboard running on Xfce and ask Xfce for the wallpapers and how to display them (streched, centered etc.). But it may be not be 100% accurate and it is nothing to implement for the upcoming 0.6.0 release.

So I have to say sorry that at the moment I cannot help here but I mark that issue as "enhancement" in hope I find a way to the next stable release.

Regards, Stephan
