Hi,
Strange! Is it a clean install and do you use the default theme of xfdashboard? It seems your desktop's icon theme does not support any of these stock icons "window-close-symbolic", "window-close", "gtk-close", so it is missing. Which icon theme do you use?
Regards, Stephan
Hi Stephan,
It is not a clean install, no, rather my existing Fedora 28 installation that I moved from GNOME to Xfce.
However, I am using the default theme of xfdashboard (I think). How can I check that?
I have tried different icon themes (Adwaita, GNOME, Fedora) now but they all lack these buttons.
Screenshots below.

That's really strange as it is the same icon set I use and I do not miss this icons :( So I will be no help to solve this issue. The only idea left is: Do you have custom icon sets or themes installed that may override the system ones? You can install themes as user in your home directory. The usual locations are: $HOME/.themes, $HOME/.icons or new style $HOME/.local/share/themes and $HOME/.local/share/icons. Do you have these directories? Are the other folders and/or files at these locations? Is there any folder having the same name as your selected theme or icon set (Adwaita)?
$HOME/.local/share/icons has hicolor folder and telegram.png
But let's not worry about it. It seems to be only me and I am currently using the Wisker Menu.
So I am fine. :-)
Dear @gmc-holle et al,
I just installed xfdashboard (thank you for this great app!) on Fedora 28 and noticed that close buttons are missing when launching the command
xfdashboard
.Am I missing something or could this be a bug?
My installed version is
xfdashboard-0.7.4-2.fc28.x86_64
