What steps will reproduce the problem?

    1. Have some custom commands in StexBar
    2. update StexBar to 1.8.4.847
    3. open an explorer window

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

I should see my custom icons in the toolbar
Instead I see my commands but with the default icon

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

    1.8.4.847
    Windows 7 ultimate x64

Please provide any additional information below.

Everything was working great in the previous version

I did delete the 2 entries in the registry:
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Discardable\PostSetup\Co
mponent Categories\{00021493-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}\Enum
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Discardable\PostSetup\Co
mponent Categories\{00021494-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}\Enum

And I did uninstall and reinstalled StexBar 1.8.4.847

But still I had no icons

So in the mean time I'm back to StexBar 1.8.3.352 and everything is fine

I have the exact same problem with 1.8.4 - custom icons not showing up.

Moises, I took your advice and downloaded 1.8.3. No issues with the icon.
Thanks.

Wish this would get fixed! It's been over 8 months!

I downgraded to 1.8.3 as well to fix this problem. I've not noticed any
features of 1.8.4 that are lacking in the 1.8.3 build.

please show an example of your icon string/path you're using.

Icon path: C:\Program Files (x86)\WinMerge\WinMergeU.exe
Command Line: C:\Program Files (x86)\WinMerge\WinMergeU.exe %selpaths

image of command canfig: http://screencast.com/t/XAPpBYb7

works fire in 1.8.3, shown only a lego block in 1.8.4.

My icon path:
C:\Program Files\StExBar\delete.ico

Works fine in 1.8.3 and also shows that Lego block in 1.8.4

As for the path to WinMergeU: leave that empty! An exe is not an icon path, in
these situations just leave that edit box empty and StExBar will extract the
icon from the exe you specified on the command line.
But put quotes around the path like this:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\WinMerge\WinMergeU.exe" %selpaths

No idea why this behavior changed. Can't see anything in the code that would
indicate it.
But I'll try to fix this...
